The lake and Saint Nicholas’ apples

In addition to the mountains, the other great protagonist of the Lecco landscape is undoubtedly the lake. It is precisely the latter that was, in the past, a crucial place for trade, transport and battles. Thanks to its position and its particular shape, an inverted Y, it has always represented a tactical crossroads between Brianza and Valtellina. Today it is known all over the world for the sports that can be practiced on its waters and for the natural and architectural wonders that attract millions of tourists from all over the world.

Description

This new adventure of Nino and Camilla, the protagonists of the collection In the footsteps of the abbot, takes place while sailing on Lake Lecco towards Bellagio.
It is precisely here that the two boys land, experiencing a magical (and somewhat fantastic) story that makes them understand the importance of friendship and the beauty of sharing and altruism.
To watch over this story, there is the statue of Saint Nicholas: the patron saint of the city, which is celebrated every year on December 6 and which covers the smiles of children with amazement and magic.
It is tradition, in fact, that on this day very special apples are distributed to the little ones (and not only), today decorated with a cotton beard and a red paper hat, to symbolize a saint whose cult even comes from Turkey.
